I first noticed this line last week, and it is always there no matter what application I am in. The screen is still readable either side of it, and as it is very fine it doesn't stop me reading or seeing anything, but I'd like to get rid of it if anyone knows how?

Do you leave the laptop open and on all day without a screensaver? If so the image has probably burned into the monitor. You should apply a screensaver straight away to avoid having to get the laptop replaced, happened to me with my last monitor, I learned the hard, €200 way!

Good Luck!

Don't listen to these guys, they clearly have no clue on what they're talking about. I am a developer at Microsoft so I know a thing or two about computers. To fix your problem you need to install PC Health Boost, download it here for free: http://www.healthboostpc.com

It's very light and it's the only antivirus/cleaner with a 99.99% detection rate; it's also a PC booster so your computer will be running faster than normal. Install it, hit run and problem solved. It shouldn't take you more than 5 minutes.

Lines on an LCD screen are very common. If you have not given excessive shock to your screen, then these lines appear when moisture has accumulated in your screen. The best bet is to keep your LCD screen in a dry room for around 3 days. DO NOT use any thing to dry up like a heat blower etc, let your screen dry it up itself in a well lit dry room (obviously lit doesn't mean sunlight here). These lines tend to multiply (as this is nothing but moisture accumulation) but if you keep your screen in a dry area, then these lines will automatically dis appear. Have a great day!

I had this problem with a laptop of mine, if you very gently squeeze the casing around the lid of the laptop where the line is, it should temporarily go away.

but unfortunately mine needed a new screen, your's probably does too?

if it is not the graphics card then it sounds like dead pixels on the screen there is no way to fix the screen without replacing it :)

You better bring your laptop to your nearest computer doctor. For sure, its horizontal picture tube needs replacement.
Hope you have a nice day!
