so it has PCIe 1.1 but the card is PCIe2 ..due to this will i be able to get the full power out from the card or is going to be limited ?

i reinstalled my windows & was trying to play bf2 singleplayer and every time i loaded a map, half way or all the way, it would crash to the descktop or restart my puter. i then cleared my HDs (i wanted to reinstall my windows again) and reboot. now the computer turns on but wont run post or boot & there is no display. it does boot when i clear the cmos or leave the power off for a while but hang and freezes randomly. i tried using the only main componentes like 1 ram, video, cpu, hd, cdrom. i tried my 2 ram sticks, 1 at a time in different slots. i got to the windows setup 3 times but first 2 had a stop error and the last one froze while formating, so i cant get to instal windows

this is my 3rd prob with my rig =( 1 was 850w PSU failed so i got thermaltake 1000w, 2 was 2nd pci-e slot shorted out and failed my 2nd video card. now i only run my good video card in the good pci-e slot.

can this be because of my other problems that might have burned somthing out?

i cant get it to go faster than 2.46. if i go any higher it wont boot. i dont see why i cant get a 2.8Ghz processor to actually run at 2.8Ghz

how do I find the appropriate drivers or software for the router and how do I set the router up? I have had the router connected to my laptop via an Ethernet cable through one of of the LAN ports and it shows there is a connection. I just cant connect to my ISP. AS I've got cable, I do not need to connect using a user name/password. Thanks

I own a asus p4p800-e- deluxe mainboard and every time i turn off the power in it and start up, i gotta reconfigure the bios settings.

I just press F2 now and set the default settings and continue bootup but it would be cool if i cud get a solution for this.

on the HD, power button, and reset cables there appears to be a arrow symbol on one of the sockets for each of the cables. Does this signify the + or - pin?

When i turn on the computer this message appears:
The Primary IDE master Hard Drive SELF MONITORING SYSTEM has reported that a parameter has exceeded its normal operating range.
A parameter out of range may or may not indicate a potential hard drive problem.

What does this mean? Has my hard drive reach its Life Limit? Is it Death?

Also is noisy and loud when is working and also slow.

I'm building a PC today, and I'm worried that I have installed the cpu incorrectly. (But i'm certain the pin1 and notches are in the right place). When I placed it in and gently nudged it, it moved slightly from side to side. I tried putting it in again, and still did it, so I assumed it was ok. Then when I put the latch down, it seemed stiffer than I expected (but it is my first time). The cpu seemed a bit off-centre, and i'm worried its broken. Any thoughts?

Why am I getting different reading for my CPU temperature in the BIOS compared to programs that monitor CPU temp?

I've downloaded 3 programs and they all give me the same temp for my CPU but my BIOS give me a temp a little higher.


Whats a more reliable reading: program monitors or the BIOS reading?

I need to add a new hard drive and I have brought it, it is a SATA not a PATA so it should work but there are 2 ports for me to put in the hard drive and both are used, one by the Primary Hard Drive and the other by the DVD drive. How can I connect my new hard drive.
