Its your ethernet port. It allows to connect to the Internet at faster speed with a DSL or Cable modem. If you are using a Dialup connection, you don't need the driver for the ethernet port.

It's built into your motherboard and surprisingly, it controls your network card, among other things.

Identify your motherboard by make & model (open the case or try Belarc) and then get all the drivers from the manufacturer's website.
