if you can still access the harddrive then yes... but if not then no... my hard drive just died in my laptop... so i know how that is...

The board on the hard-drive is cooked but the disks can be placed into another assembly for data retrieval. This will not be cheap. You will need to find a store that specializes in hard drive recovery.

Have you plugged it in the correct way to see if it is actually damaged? I haven't experience that hooking my cables backwards, all that happened to me is the computer wouldn't boot up..
