My cell phone was drowned in mineral water in a span of 5 minutes. It all happened inside my bag without me knowing it. I turned off my cell phone and used a blow drying to remove all the moisture outside and inside (battery compartment and memory card slot).
The cell phone turns on but with a purple screen and a faulty backlight. After leaving it alone for 5 hours, it starts working again.
So do I need to open it and blow dry the insides or am I in the safe zone?

Hello, My Toshiba a25 was working fine when I had to stop using it 2 weeks ago while waiting on my new ac adapter to arrive because the old one quit working. About 3 months ago the touchpad for the pointer started working intermittently and then the keyboard was starting to do the same. But then the problem went away and both had been working fine for 2 months until now that I have recieved the new ac adapter from ebay and am able to now use the laptop for the first time in 2 weeks. Now the touchpad has not worked at all since I have been able to use the laptop again these last 3 days and also the keypad is beginning to work off and on again. I thought this problem was gone and how is it related to the fact that the computer has been sitting powered off for the last 2.5 weeks? It seems awfully coincidental that all was fine 2.5 weeks ago when my ac adapter went bad, I was able to use the laptop one more day before the battery died, then I had to put it up until the other day .

Specifically: I have a Maxtor (Ultra ATA/133) 160 GB drive, running externally via an external power supply and casing. When installed for the first time, I had to limit the initial size to 137 GB, because of ATA restrictions. Now I am trying to reformat the drive to gain the extra 13 GB (binary vs. decimal), but Windows XP isn't showing me the unpartitioned space in Disk Manager. Also, Maxtor was bought by Seagate, and they didn't save any of Maxtor's help files.

I believe that the drive came with an installation disk to fix this, but it's been 6 years, and I can't find the disk.

Any ideas?

I've tried several new DVD-RW drives lately (Sony, Pioneer, Lite-on) and none worked. The drives ARE recognized and are listed in device manager and bios setup. When I insert a CD or DVD, it is recognized with the proper name and file list. If it is a DVD or audio CD, the tracklist comes up but either it wont play or i get an error (drive is malfunctioning or something). If it is a data CD, some files may open (like small images or text files) but usually, either the program hangs or i get an error message.

I've already tried several things:
- cleaned the lens
- tried different IDE cables
- tried the drive set as master and slave (even though it's the only thing connected to the secondary IDE channel)
- uninstalled NERO Burning ROM (i dont have any other CD or DVD programs)
- updated firmware

Because I've already tried several new drives, I'm absolutely sure that it's not the drives. Weird thing is that my old drives (a DVD drive and CD-RW drive) i got around 2002 still work fine.

I still cant decide which motherboard to get. I am going to get a sempron 2600+ from newegg for 20 dollars for my second computer that i am going to play around with and i want to over clock the 2600+ which is at 1.6ghz to at least 2.0ghz, would this be a decent board to do it with, because there are not that many socket 754 boards that support both agp and ddr that are around anymore and i know msi is realiable compared to the other brands of boards in which i have never had before, which include foxconn, biostar, and ecs.

What graphics card is better.

ATi X1650pro OR nvidia 7600GT?

And to add to that, where does the ATi HD2600pro fit into them cards, worse, better, middle?

Thanks,

Im open to opinions of any other cards which are around that value, but dont suggest stupidly priced cards, as i dont play many games.

I have a PCI-E socket.

And dont tell me that nvidia are better than ATi, i just want to know what the individual cards are like, and how they perform.. better or worse.

thanks again

I need a new power supply to handle my graphics card, i'm running a 450W PSU and the specs with my card say that is the minimum spec, it's making the card quite jumpy. Anyway it requires atleast 30A on a 12V rail. Could anyone recommend a decent PSU at about 600W with over 30A @ 12V rail.

OK, I have read enough in the past couple of months to make my head explode! But I would like a few experinced opinions. I am doing my first PC build, and I'm kind of stumped on a motherboard. I'm going with an E6600 Core 2 duo CPU, a 300GB Seagate HD, and I intend to run Windows XP. I am just not ready to deal with all the bugs I have read about with Vista yet. I may upgrade later. I am not a hard core gamer, so overclocking is not REAL important to me, but I wouldn't mind having the option if I choose to do so. I plan on going with 2GB of DDR2 ram, maybe more in the future. I mainly just want a reliable MB, with a little 'wiggle room' if I decide to make some tweaks later on. I should also note, I have already purchased a 550W power supply. Is that enough? I will run 2 DVD drives, and a mid level video card. Gaming is not important, so no SLI. All of my drives will be SATA. I will also be running 3-4 fans, and most likley a fan controller and a couple of cold cathode lights. Thanks!

Problem the DVD player have no software and won't work? I put a DvD in and it keeps giving me error messages saying that I need to install the software that came with the player....is there anyway to do this without knowing what kind of Dvd player it is.....?
