My computer is so slow! I thought that if i had deleted some files for more memory it would work better and I defragment it like 2 times a day but it still lags! What do I need to fix this without paying alot of money?

Firstly, the amount of memory on your computer doesn't do anything for it's speed. A computer's speed lies in its RAM (random access memory) and it's processor. Running processes use up RAM, so hit ctrl+alt+del and click on the "processes" tab (if you have XP)..then check which programs are using the most CPU power and\or memory. If you find a program that looks like it could be the problem, then select it and hit "End Process". Of course, make sure you don't need it first.

Also, if your computer's more than 3 years old it's probably time to get a new one anyways.

Try an online virus/spyware scanner. If it is Windows XP, go to start, run, msconfig, click ok and click on stratup tab. Uncheck all startup items and restart the computer. (You will get a message about the computer being in a selective startup when restarting the computer, click ok on that.) Check to see if the computer is running quicker or not, if it is, start to check the startup items one at a time until the computer lags, then either remove the program associated with it or contact the program manufacturer.

Without adding money the easiest way to make your computer faster is to uninstall all your uneeded programs. We all have old programs that we don't really need, well these programs use memory especially if the load at start up.

The second possible thing is that your user profile may be corrupt. Try creating another user account and see if it is any faster when using that account. If it is then login to that account and move all your stuff over.

first of all, deleting files only frees up hard disk space. You memory is is used to run processes. In addition to defrag, you should also use disk cleanup. if you have winXP, hit start, all programs, accesories, system tools, disk clean up. also, go into control panel and click on internet settings, and delete saved web files. another thing that WILL slow your computer down is adware and virus'. You might try using a free program such as NoAdware. you can usually download it at http://www.downloads.com and http://www.pcworld.com

what are the specs of your computer? maybe its too old to handle such programs. Anyways, you can try running an anti-virus check, maybe your computer is infected. And spyware check also. Because, some virus and spywares trigger the slow processes of your computer. And also, try a registry check. But you need programs such as "tune-up". Most of these programs are downloable via internet.

You probably just need some more RAM.

Download CPUZ here...

...to determine what kind you need (what speed, etc).

Also, to have a smooth running PC, I recommend having at least 1 GB of RAM installed.

Hope this helps! :)
