I want to know if I should get a laptop or desktop for college. Should I get the best laptop or one that I need to replace in a couple years? What are some really good laptops for under $2000?

It's a terrible, terrible processor. I mean think about it. It has a more reduced instruction set than most Risc processors but it's a Cisc processor. OMG!!! Why do people like it so much? The 65C816 has an instruction set with way more complex instructions and it's still Risc. If you're smart you would know that (reduced instruction set)+(Cisc arcitecture)=(really bad processor)

65C816 could add two registers in one cycle
it takes eight cycles for 68000 to do that

65C816 could load in a number and use that as an adress for another number and use that as an address for a number to be loaded in using only one instruction, 68000 uses two instructions to do that. You call that a more complex instruction set?

Yesterday I asked this same question and was given a run-around. For shame, CCleaner DID NOT remove the problematic program from my Registry and yes I have the responsibility of being concerned about it.
It came from a downloaded MCI shared Files Disk and is operating in MS-DOS and has planted the following hardware onto my pc: (1) Uni-modem Audio Controller operating through the Robotics 56K modem WIN 1806, (2) Multimedia Video Controller, and (3) Multimedia Controller. these devices control where a user can go and monitor all of his/her activities on the Internet including ones' email accounts and lists.

After visiting PC world they have sold me a PSU that has slightly less Watts than the one which was installed already. They say this should make no difference to the running of the computer. Is this correct?

I have intentions of building 3 to 5 regular PCs and hooking them up together in parallel in order to have it act as some sort of super computer. This idea mainly stems from the fact that I want to process lots of information such as 3D editing programs and emulators for near current systems. Are my attempts in vain because progress in computer hardware is not current enough?

I dont know if I should get a dual core or quad core processor from intel. On newegg.com a quad core processor and duo core processor cost about the same. A quad q6600 cost $309 and has a clock speed of 2.4 Ghz. A Duo e6700 cost $317 and has a clock speed of 2.6. Why is the quad core which is only .2 Mhz slower than the e6700 cost about the same than a duo core? If i were to build a pc strictly for gaming which is what im doing, should i go with the e6700 or q6600?

I tried to install some games on a Windows 98 pc I just received, but I was told that the computer didn't have enough disk space on the hard drive (C:/) to accomadate the programs. Is there a chance that I can buy some disk space? Do I buy a new drive? Or am I just in need of a new pc? How does this work?

I'm having trouble installing windows onto a laptop (laptop wont recognise correct size of partition and wont fully format before installation). The hard drive is perfectly fine. The laptop is a Toshiba Equium A60. If i install a copy of windows XP on my other laptop, Dell Inspiron 6000, will it work on the Toshiba once i put the hard drive back in?

Ok i cant decide which video card to get. I am looking at getting a sapphire hd 2600xt or a sapphire 1950pro. I already have windows vista and everything i just cant decide which would be better to get now. I want to play directx 10 games, but the performance of the midrange directx 10 video cards is horrible so far. Just curious what everyone else would do.

I tried to get it to turn back on for hours but it would show the blue screen after it loads when you first turn it on. After hours of playing around with I got it to turn by removing one of the sticks of ram. It works with one piece of ram but not with both. I tried switching them and it will work with one or the other but not both. I haven't changed anything on this laptop recently. Its a toshiba satellite pro m14-s405 and it has windoes xp pro on it.
