Looks like a pretty good setup already, the m1330 is a super-sexy, light-weight little laptop.

I'm not really sure what you'll be using it for but the 120Gb hard drive will get filled up pretty quickly with music, photos, videos and the like and I would suggest either going for the larger option or think about an external Hard Drive for storage.

If you want to play any games on there, you'll need to upgrade from the standard integrated graphics to the NVIDIA® GeForce™ 8400M GS.

I'd go for the faster processor (T7300) as it's faster :)

It's already a really good little package and anything extra you add is just that, something extra. Just don't go crazy with the options and end up in too much debt.

I hope this helps, and good luck with your purchase!

I haven't researched this model but....

For $1600 - 1800 it sounds to me like to much $$$ for what your getting.

Is this a 17" wide screen laptop???

The hard drive is slow... 5400RPM.... a 7200 RPM would be better.

Always go with the faster processor as long as they are of the same type. i.e. both core 2 duo and not a core 2 duo vs a P4.

Also, you didn't say if this has XP or Vista on it.

You need to know that Vista is very demanding on a processor and will tax it heavily. Therefore you need to upgrade to the fastest core 2 duo you can afford. The 2G of RAM will be fine with any of the core 2 duo's.

I have the sound blaster audigy on my pc and for the vast majority of people it is just fine. You pc is not high end recording/playback equipment so unless you are a hard core audiophile you will be satisfied with it.

You do pay a premium for the XPS line at Dell. You may want to consider one of their Inspiron models and spend some money upgrading it. i.e. the processor, RAM, etc.

My brother just bought an Inspiron with a 1.8GHz core 2 duo with 2 G RAM and an 160MB Hard Drive for under $600. Look at the various model lines and make a decision on what you are getting for the proverbial "BANG FOR THE BUCK".

Hope this all helps. Good luck!!!

ok im no longer mac expert yet i'm the alternative of a domicile windows enthusiust... one element well worth noting is that domicile windows Vista will take purely approximately a million/2 the ram and cpu till now you even throw in different classes, inspite of the shown fact that i dont study up on macs so i cant inform you lots greater effective than that, sorry
