I am confused. When I searched the internet, I got some usb flash memory drives for as cheap as $13 and yet they are 1G, while others which are of lower memory eg 256MB area as expensive as $34. I need one for my programming class. What factors do I consider before buying? are there chances that I could buy a wrong one?

I'm looking at CD/DVD drives for a computer, and the upgrade from a 48x CD-RW / DVD-ROM drive is a 16x CD/DVD burner drive. Why is the upgrade from 48x to a lower 16x. What does the 48x and 16x even mean/ stand for?

I'm thinking about getting some for my work PC (just to be smart xD) but there's no way I'd be allowed to install new drivers on my workstation. If XP has native support for them though then that's great.

Just bought a Compaq, and the clerk states that these are pretty good, so I figured I would try it, since I had the Celeron Emachine before, and the power supply to the Emachine fried less than 2 yrs. Wanted something better than a Celeron, with more Memory. The Compaq has 512 MB,64 Processor 3500plus with 200GB. Ok, only been using it for a day and I have seen slower surfing connections, the RAM makes noises constantly, which unsure if thats normal, being a new PC with that much RAM. I don't see many online stores that sell a non-celeron PC or laptop, and ones that due the price is over $700. Don't really have too many PC stores locally, so unsure what to do here. Should I take the PC back, if so what kind of PC do you recommend that would go smoother and quick to load etc??? I welcome replies from competent Tech 's, or someone who has a lot of experience within this field. All mature replies are gratefully appreciated!!

He has an Asus A9250 graphics card which I don`t think is up to it. According to the Asus site, the card only supports DirectX 8.1, could anyone shed any light on this? Could the fact that most games require DirectX 9 be the problem?

I got a burner as a gift a really long time ago, and I installed the software on my computer. Since then, I had my computer reprogrammed in which I lost the installation. I no longer have the software (I still have the burner) and I really need to burn lots of music. What do I need to do in order to successfully hook up the burner and copy music from my Windows Media Player? By the way, the software was "NeroExpress", I'm not sure what version.
