I think the card reader is better than the cable. We used to use a cable then one day it stopped working so now we use a card reader. It cost a bit more money but is more reliable.

There are several ways to do it, and it depends on the camera model.

The most common way is usign a cable that connects the camera with the computer.

If the camera is plug an play and you have the last version of operative system in you computer, it will detect it and will open a new icon in the My computer (if you are usign Widnows)

After that, you will be able to move or copy the pictures as if you were using a new hard disk drive just copiying and pasting them.

U need the usb cable that comes with the digital camera. Most cameras can b picked up by windows xp without having to install any additional software and you can transfer the pictures to your computer.

1. Load the software that came with the camera to your computer.

2. Hook the camera to the computer via the USB dongle that came with your camera.

install the driver if useing an older verion of windows XP or even if you are using it, ity may ask for the disk, then plug it in the USB and then open the folder with the pictures (normaly removeable memory) then hight them n copy n past them to you pc
