How do I get pinnacle studio usb to work?

I have tried using it with a vcr via the rca cable and it gets locked up each time. Has any one had any luck getting it to work?

From device, USB to computer, audio in jack to computer. 3 RCA wires (red, white, and yellow) to the "in" side of the USB device and VCR. Pinnacle has a nasty habit of "locking up". Pinnacle 9 is a bit better, but pinnacle 10 is nasty. Get Uulead software, it's a bit better, but not 100%.
