I need to retrieve some files from a 3 1/2 inch floppy disk, but whenever I insert it in the computer floppy disk slot, I receive a message saying that I need to format the disk. I believe that if I format it, I will loose the existing files on the disk. Please help me as I need to retrieve these files. Urgent assistance would be appreciated!!!

I had new pc bought last week and it worked well. It has a intel desktopboard DG31PR and a duo core e6550 processor. And 1GB system memory and a ati radeon video card. And Vista ultimate OS. But in the past days after i bought it, seems sometime i have to restart it three times b4 it will work well. Because the system randomly hangs up even in pre loading the OS.( i mean in starting my comp. it will not load the operating sytem, it hangs. And today it didnt even had a display on it. I reset all the connection inside the motherboard and also the battery. I tried to not use my video because it has a integrated Video on board. but still it didn't work. I tried to transfer the memory in another slot but still it also didn't worked. Why? and what part of the pc causing that failure?

I have recently bought a graphics Card for a special gaming upgrade to my pc.
There was originally a RADEON X300(128MB) PCI-E X16 and yestd I tried 2 remove and insert the new one which you can find here:

Its an Asus Extreme Ati Radeon X1600 PRO(256MB)..1 more thing:the picture of the card in cnet.com is not quite the same as the 1 i have!any suggestion??
but it did not fit! there's only a few millimetres difference!
my friend told me to buy only PCI-E cards and that's what I bought but its not being fitted!
I have an ASUS PG5D1-FM motherboard and its clearly written next to the pci slot: "PCI-E X16 SLOT"
PLEASE HELP ME OUT!
is there any way to make this graphics card work?
I need to try NFS RO STREET ASAP!

Model: HP m7470n XP Media Center Edition

My PC won't load at all, no even to the BIOS screen. It will say "No VGA Input" or something on the monitor, then "Recommended settings: 1024x748 60MHz"

The PC beep code is a 1 second beep, then another 1 second beep after a half a second pause. I don't know what that error code is for anymore.

I've tried powering up with only the power supply cord in, but it still won't boot.

I'm a busy college student, so my laptop gets a lot of wear and tear.

I'm noticing it's all crumby and dusty and smudgy, so what's the best (and safest) way to get it clean? I have a feeling the dishwasher might be a bad idea... ;-P

my computer/monitor has problems turning on.
i have a custom built computer. specs:
amd64 3800 x2 am2 65w
GIGABYTE GA-M55plus-S3G AM2 NVIDIA GeForce 6100 Mobo
GeForce 7600GT 256MB 128-bit GDDR3 PCI-e x16
500w apevia power supply
CORSAIR XMS2 (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel
1 dvdrom
1 dvd+/- R with lightscribe
no floppy
30gig ide harddrive with windows xp pro
120 gig ide for data
500 gig sata for data

every time i turn on the computer, the dvdrom drives will spinclick with or without any cd/dvd inside it and until it stops clicking, the monitor will either turn on or it doesnt. if i'm lucky, it'll click a couple of times then the monitor will turn on. if it doesnt, i have to re-seat the video card and try again until there is video on the monitor. monitor works fine cuz i replaced it twice. i'm not sure how to fix this. sometimes it'll work right off the bat without re-seating the video, sometimes it'll take 1-50 times.

This seems like a dumb question, but with computers, there is never a dumb question...

I have 4 PCs and 4 monitors. I want to use one keyboard and one mouse to control all 4, but I still need to have all 4 monitors available for viewing at the same time. I can still use a standard KVM switch and just not utilize the video switching portion...right?
