If you are plugged into the Power Adapter, try running it with the Battery removed. HEAT will kill your battery.

If your laptop has feet, make sure that they are extended. Get a laptop cooling pad from Staples or other store. Make sure that dust is not clogging the vents around the fan.

i would download a program called "sensorsview" which will tell you exact temps of your various pc parts.

harddrives do get hot, mine average at about 40oC. If you find they are very hot then try and mount a fan near them to blow cool air across them which will bring down temps for you!

Sounds like you need a processor fan.
