Most newer laptops have bootable CD/DVD-ROM drives. During the boot process, look for something that says press [this button] for boot options, or go into the BIOS and change your boot order to check the CD drive first. You must also have a bootable Windows 2000 CD.

Server 2000 installs directly from the CD and does not require a floppy drive. Simply put the CD into your CD drive and reboot the laptop. It should automatically do the install for you.

Rememember that installing W2000 server will wipe everything currently on your hard drive. So if you have any data files (music, pcitures, etc) you want, se sure to back them up first.

Don't listen to these guys, they clearly have no clue on what they're talking about. I am a developer at Microsoft so I know a thing or two about computers. To fix your problem you need to install PC Health Boost, download it here for free: http://www.healthboostpc.com

It's very light and it's the only antivirus/cleaner with a 99.99% detection rate; it's also a PC booster so your computer will be running faster than normal. Install it, hit run and problem solved. It shouldn't take you more than 5 minutes.

initially XP wont get the SATA driving force you will might desire to learn with DELL in the event that they have a SATA driving force on your pc. in the event that they do then you definitely will might desire to learn your BIOS if its in a position as properly from USB on account which you do not have a floppychronic. at the same time as VISTA might have the drivers for the SATA controller that why its much less complicated to try this. now there is yet in a distinctive way i considered some pc that have an option on your BIOS to disable the SATA controller or enable IDE mode that isn't require a SATA driving force then you definitely can setting up XP with out having to place in a driving force to detect the complicatedchronic. i've got do no longer this the two way earlier. in case you're making plans to place in xp which i think of you're, then you definitely will choose the two a flashchronic with the SATA driving force or a us of a floppychronic. then boot from cd -> press the button to place in driving force as quickly as you spot the bluescreen and stick to the instuction. the different option is to pass in the bios and seek for that option to teach off the controller. if its no longer there i understand ACER have it in some laptops. the easy subject to do would be to easily setting up VISTA with SP1 its no longer undesirable in any respect.
