Well, let's put it this way, the games that have the WINDOWS logo on them will not run (most of the awesome games, sadly). And for the most part, all PC hardcore games are made on windows... So Macs are not exactly gaming machines!
EDIT: if you have a super powerful mac, run an Operating System Emulator, like "Qemu" (Google it) and emulate windows XP and run your desired game .... again, that's if you have a SUPER MAC! Else the game will never run properly.

The problem is that there are lot more video games on the market designed to work on Windows machines than on Macs.
Games written for a Mac work just fine on a Mac, so Macs CAN play video games. It's just that there isn't nearly as much of a selection compared to the number of games written for Windows.

Yes, they can, but a lot of the video games out there, like Sims, are windows. But you can get games for macs because they also have Sims for macs too, just look in the corner of the video game's box and it will tell you what it will work on. But sometimes they don't always have games for macs at places like Target, so try online or any convenient apple store will a good selection too, just look around.
Good luck!!Hope this helps!

Macs can play games yes.
They just cant play most of the popular games like "Counter Strike Source" or "Battlefield 2". Which are only made for windows.
Most games you can play on the xbox and playstation are made for computers as well, and more than 90% of those games are made for windows computers only.
If you are a heavy gamer you do need a good windows computer.
If you like basic games and you are not a heavy gamer and dont care about playing with friends, then stick with Mac.

ROFL. You want specific answers to a very vague question. Of course Macs can play video games. If there is 1 game you have in mind then you need to ask the makers of that game.
