I had new pc bought last week and it worked well. It has a intel desktopboard DG31PR and a duo core e6550 processor. And 1GB system memory and a ati radeon video card. And Vista ultimate OS. But in the past days after i bought it, seems sometime i have to restart it three times b4 it will work well. Because the system randomly hangs up even in pre loading the OS.( i mean in starting my comp. it will not load the operating sytem, it hangs. And today it didnt even had a display on it. I reset all the connection inside the motherboard and also the battery. I tried to not use my video because it has a integrated Video on board. but still it didn't work. I tried to transfer the memory in another slot but still it also didn't worked. Why? and what part of the pc causing that failure?

memory ram slot may be fried, or ram is broken, or it is not properly connected...

and avoid vista.. use xp.. vista crashes a lot.. it will make more burden for your pc..

It could very well be a faulty system or a faulty motherboard. The specs seem fine for running vista.

Usually when the computer starts up and shuts down everytime during POST, you can safely assume its a Hardware issue, since POST checks all your hardware to make sure everything is running smoothly and there are no issues with them, before initializing.

In this case, it could be a problem with your RAM (your 1GB volatile memory), you could be having a fulty RAM chip. You might want to:

A. Try adding another 1GB of RAM to your system.

B. Try exchanging your RAM for a better more reliable one.

See if that works..

Usually when a pc hangs up before loading an OS its usually a memory error or harddrive crash. Its not a harddrive error cuz ur system works somewhat. If the keyboard flashes that also means the bios is not happy, and since you changed memory slots you may have:shocked it or not installed it properly or it may be a bad stick. This sort of thing happens.

You know. With all the answers well meaning and good... I would advice NOT to touch the newly bought PC at this point. Although we could troubleshoot it and come up with a solution after some testing, I would rather return it and have it checked. THIS seems to me a hardware or bios problem we're dealing with.

This might be best at this time.

Hi. Return it if you can before the warranty gets voided. Obviously not normal behavior. Try booting into Safe mode. Reset your BIOS (remove battery, move the reset jumper to clear and move it back, reinstall battery). Make sure the power supply in beefy with high quality (this causes more problems than you can imagine).
