Model: HP m7470n XP Media Center Edition

My PC won't load at all, no even to the BIOS screen. It will say "No VGA Input" or something on the monitor, then "Recommended settings: 1024x748 60MHz"

The PC beep code is a 1 second beep, then another 1 second beep after a half a second pause. I don't know what that error code is for anymore.

I've tried powering up with only the power supply cord in, but it still won't boot.

Thanks for any help/suggestions!

Check to see if your graphics card is properly set in your motherboard.

I would be checking the RAM chips.

Unplug the power cord and take off the side cover and remove the ram sticks and clean the contacts and blow out the slot on the mother board and put them back in.

I have fixed a lot of pc with this problem just by cleaning the contacts. Do not touch the contacts with your fingers. Just wipe them with a static free, lint free cloth.

my computer does this sometimes

what happens when I turn the power on nothing happens to the mother board. the monitor comes on with "no input"

to get it going I press the reset button which boots the mother board.

I don't know beep codes... I suggest contacting hp support... http://welcome.hp.com/country/us/en/contact_us.html

Make sure you cables are plugged in firmly. Does your computer not normally beep like that?
