Im a gamer on a budget (900 bucks) and Im building a new rig for college. I was wondering whether I should go for the first set of CPU and GPU or the Second. both Systems will have 2 gb of RAM but the CPU and GPU combination have stagnated me.
Thanks a lot, Oh and something to note, I won't be upgrading to Vista till the beginning of 08.

I recently just installed windows xp on my new computer. I had the same headset from my old computer and it worked fine but when I installed windows xp it is now saying the device cannot be installed correctly because there is not istallation hardware. It is a plug and play USB headset through logitech. I have the service pack 2 and should be able to just plug it in set it up and use it. INstead I have a (code 28) and it is not letting me use it. What can I do to fix the problem. I have tried Microsoft help... they were no help... I tried logitech as well... they were now help..... please help

I have HP computer with windows XP media center edition 2005 on it and my monitor is my LG LCD TV I have had my computer and the tv for little over a year about a month ago my computer lost all sound and i cant hear anything and i dont know why? I have gone to Control panel and then to "sounds and audio devices" but at the volume tab it says "No Audio Device" any suggestions on why it is doing this could it be that my sound card is fried?? please help it bothers me that i have no sound during my gmes!!!!

i have a winbook a series laptop, and it has 60 gb hard drive, 600 ram, and a slight line of dead pixels running across the screen. no built in wifi, but i included a usb adapter. how much should i seelll 4 on ebay? btw, the line of pixels DOES NOT OBSTRUCUT VIEW. it is hard to see, white, and the reason im selling it is b/c im gatting a macbook pro.

Im running windows xp it keeps shutting down unexpectedly..Norton says no viruses or spyware. monitor wont comeon all the time either and freezes alot at start up ? Any thoughtson what might be wrong also ran pc pitstop scan an says all is good .

I want to purchase a 8800 gtx card, but i will not pay that out there...... price for it, knowing that in a few months the value will take a crash dive and the next lastest greatest thing is famous.
so how long do you think the card will sell for around $400 on ebay etc. before no one bids more than $100-200 tops like everything eles? because ill wait if i can save $ hundereds thats for sure.

The power went out the other day, not a storm or anything, not sure why, but now my emachine won't turn on. It was in sleep mode when the power went out. My computer, monitor, printer and speakers are all plugged into the same surge protector and all of them turn on besides the computer tower. I opened it to look inside and the green light on the motherboard is on other than that I don't know what else to check.... does anyone have any ideas what happened?

I have a lousy graphics card: 4X AGP 3D Graphics Hardware Acceleration (nVIDIA® GeForce4™ MX 440)
64MB Video Memory (128-bit DDR)
MPEG2 Realtime Encoder/Decoder board
with TV Tuner.

I am running Windows XP with 512MB of memory.
My computer is a Sony PCV-RZ14G

Now my question is, I have 1 free PCI slot should I:
1.) Use this slot for a new graphics card and leave the old there, and if so what is your suggestion for the new card?
or
2.) Replace the old card with your suggested new card with the same capabilities?
or
3.) Just buy a new compy?

ok heres the deal I've looked around but found no definitive answers the thing is, logic suggests it will work being the fact I can display both 720 and 1080 movie trailers etc I just want to know if anyone has done it on a standard crt not tft or flat panel

When I plugged in my USB game controller into my windows Vista, it says that the device is unknown, so I do not know how to install it.... :(

if you are reading a page on the computer you can scroll down by rolling the scroller on the top of the mouse. I use to be able to do this & now I cant, I have to use the scroll bar on the right side if the screen. Anyone know how I can fix this?

hi! does anyone knows where can i find some kind of driver for a flat panel e19t5w (emachines)... my problem is that i installed a new windows on my pc and the monitor is actually widescreened but i havent found A configuration to adjust the image, right now it just streches and everything is out of proportion... please helpp!!! i already tried to look for this havent found an answer... it is streching the 1024x768 when it shoud be 1440x900! will really really apreciate your help

i am looking at the dell inspiron 530 intel core 2 duo E4400 windows XP 2MG memory 320GB harddrive and a geforce 8300gs video card. i have heard that this graphics card is not very good my wife wants to be able to run second life... and my son does some online gaming... will this still work ok for us? i have read that i should upgrade to the 8600gt... but dell doesn't offer it in a windows XP computer (my wife does not want vista)... any computer whiz out there who can guide me in the right direction?..

also... could i one day add a better graphics card?
