Probably before Christmas, if the Geforce 9xxx series gets launched.

Waiting is pointles, you will wait for a price drop that will come, once that time comes, another price drop will happen soon after.

They aren't going to be falling for a while, probably not until early or mid 08.
I'd settle for a 8600 for around a 100$ or 8800GTS for 270$ right now, then get a 8900 when they come out(which in reality, when they do, the 8800 wont even fall in price for a while after, which is why its such a long wait)

Not until ATi/AMD come out with something more competitive.

Same boat as how Intel is killing AMD CPU's, and AMD's quad offering is going to suck also- so expect Intel's quad to stay at their current levels.
