is it ok to puta 1gb ram chip on a sony pcv rx860?

my max ram can be 1.5 ut i just have 512 mb can i put a gig to complete the computer

It looks like each slot could only recognize up to 512mb size of RAM. To be safe, just add 2x512mb sticks.
