Hello, i recently bought a Portable 60GB Western Digital External Hard drive (FAT32). When i plugged the USB cable into the computer it seemed like it was having trouble loading onto my computer and the HD was making weird noises, i went to the shop and got an exchange.

I then took the new hard drive to my parents and tried it on there computer and it loaded fine, went back to mine & tried it in my computer and still it dint work. It sometimes says that its found a new device but it doesn't show in My Computer, The hard drive still makes funny noises when its plugged in, like its having difficulty loading.

As you can see in the picture the device manager shows its there, but it WILL NOT show in my computer. Ive tried all possible USB Ports on my Comp. and the USB ports are USB 2.0 compatible. Ive tried it in two computers and it worked fine, both with Windows XP SP2. Please Help!!!!

My computer which used to have good sound untill I plugged
My shortwave receiver into it !!!!
after that there is no sound at all device manger says that sound card is still working any ideas

I just need to walk into an ordinary computer shop and purchase a graphics card. I'm not very technical, but I can see that I have an IBM THinkCentre, purchased October 2006 brand new. It has a 3GHz CPU, 1GB RAM and just been upgraded to WinVISTA from WinXP SP2. AERO does not work. HELP.

Thank you all so much for your help. Just one more question.

So this is the processor that is in the laptop I bought. From ya'lls previous responses it seems that most of you say that the Core 2 Duo is superior to the Centrino, but from some responses, I am led to believe that some Centrino Duo models are built on a Core 2 Duo Processor? Am I correct in this assumption?

So does this mean the Centrino Duo Processor I bought is built on the Core 2 Duo platform and if this is so, does this mean it has any advantages over the regular Intel Core 2 Duo processor?

Every once in awhile I accidentally press the Sleep/Hibernate button on my keyboard (it has a moon by it). My computer powers down and the power button flashes with an amber light. My problem is I can't get the computer to start back up when this happens. I press the power button, I press and hold the power button, I press all the keys on the keyboard, nothing works. I have to unplug the power cord to get the damn thing running again. Any suggestions?
