My cell can use the infrared connections. It looks like thats supposed to go with labtops; what about home computers? or my home computer? Can I tell just by finding something in "system", in the control panel?

Hi, my birthday is coming up and I wanna get my computer upgraded for battlefield 2. I dont want my parents spending TOO much money,so do any of u know any video card that is cheap and can run battlefield 2 pretty well. All I have right now is a lousy Geforce 5200 FX.

I have a very old laptop, it has Windows 3.1 and nearly all the programs run from an early version of DOS.

The desktop is more current. Both are IBM compatible.

It can be interfaced using, (I think), a program called "BRIEFCASE" - which is missing from my desktop. The cable to be used is a double-female with two plugs; a nine-pin (female) and a twenty-five pin female (on both ends).

i have a new computer, its pretty solid but as im noticing with companies, they like to skimp on the graphics card . . . the comp is HP, AMD dual core @ 2.6 ghz each, 3 gigs of ddr2 ram. i play half life 2 alot, and just started episode one and its very slow even with the settings all turned down. i already know im going to need to upgrade the power supply from the 250w to atleast 350 or 400watts. i am wondering what else i need to know in regards to what cards will be compatible, like for example, since my ram is DDR2 does that mean the graphics card has to be DDR2 also? or can i go up to DDR3 with the upgraded power supply? any help on this matter would be appreciated. . . i was looking around the 100 - 150 price range if anyone has any suggestions also. thanks.

I created a temporary folder on my desktop, used it for a few hours, and deleted it. And it came back! So I deleted it again, and, well, it just keeps coming back. I checked under the properties, and un-checked 'read only' and tried again. Nothing seems to be working. What is going on?!?!?

I feel like this is a silly question, but I've never really owned a laptop before, and I'm making a rather large purchase of one with a Terrible battery life - highest rated on Cnet though, battery life is the only problem. Can I just turn off the computer and switch out the battery for a fully charged one? Like.. carry around 2-3 batteries, especially on trips or long carrides.
