I have a DV2000 - same difference I think!
You can either go via the start menu to HP Pavillion Webcam - assuming your supplier installed it properly. Otherwise just fire up a Windows Explorer or My Computer window. On the left hand listing (if you don't see the file structure click "folders" button on toolbar) expand the "My Computer" node and you should see a node called HP Pavillion Webcam"
Click on that and it should initialise it (nice blue light to left of webcam will come on) and you should be able to see your face in the explorer window.

If none of that works- let me know and I will tell you how to install it (because it would appear it isn't on your laptop!!!)
good luck

extra comment added after reading someone elses - Mine isn't vista - so if yours is, might make a difference I guess!!

i have the same computer. I've been able to use it using instant messenger, and msn messenger. It doesnt always work though. the problem is that vista doesn't completely recognize the camera yet, and HP is behind on getting out a fix for it. If you just want to test it, try hitting the quickplay button at the top left of your keyboard. click the second icon(camera, music, and film). Then wait for the sources to load, and click on hp webcam. you should be able to test the movie and still capture there, but even there, it doesnt always work. You'll know it's working if the little blue light comes on.
good luck!

When you went through your setup process it should have done that for you. I just got an HP laptop a few weeks ago and it went through the whole process for me. If it came with windows vista just click on the menu bar and in the search area type in webcam.

There should be a program on your lap top that came installed that can configure and test out your Webcam. Try going to a site that used a Webcam and try and see if it works from there.
