I am looking to buy a new computer so if you have a newer computer I would like your input. I am more than likely buying a desktop.

I have a Sony all-in-one computer (looks like all it is is a monitor, all the guts are behind the screen) and I love it. It looks very aesthetically pleasing. It uses all laptop components. Probably the biggest drawbacks is that you can do very few upgrades on it (but don't quote me on that cuz I haven't really considered it yet and have not really broken into it to see if it has like an agp slot for a better video card) and the speakers are built in, but they are okay for what I do.

I guess it really depends on what you are going to use it for. It has done everything I have asked it to do and when people see it they go "oooh, aaah" and that's pretty much good enuff for me.

I have a DellDesktop 4550, and I'm well satisfied with it. They have good products. They also have good deals on refurbished models that have the warranty as new. Tell them what you want to do and they'll tell you the kind of system you need. From there you can get a price, then if you feel like shopping around at the other big name computer companies you'll have a starting place.

you got ways if you know at least a litle about computers you can either build your own or buy a premade one... advantages of building your own are that you can choose what you want on your pc and get better components for the same price as some lower level ones on a premade... but then if you are not sure you can do that... go with something like hp or dell if all you using is for home stuff, internet and others... if you are going for a gaming one... something like vigor, alienware, etc.......

Well, I use P-4 based PC assembled my me. I can update anything i want to, and I don't need any engineer for maintenance. And as compared to Branded PC, I've individual warranty on each part. So Its the best.

If you can afford it, go with a laptop. You can take it everywhere you go and have your computer at your fingertips when you need it. I have a Compac Presario V2000. It isn't the biggest with storage and stuff, but I can burn discs, watch movies, email, etc. I love it.
