Home PC with infrared?

Question

My cell can use the infrared connections. It looks like thats supposed to go with labtops; what about home computers? or my home computer? Can I tell just by finding something in "system", in the control panel?

Most motherboards have the capability to accept an IR link. You need to physically attach an IR link or probably DIY something like this:
