I am thinking of buying a computer from Sams ( I know I should make it myself but I'm pressed for time). Anyway I was wondering if the NVIDIA GeForce 6150 LE graphics card supports a dual monitor arrangement? Thanks.

I'm going to college in a month and this saturday I'm getting a Dell laptop. I have gradually been getting nearsightedness and my vision is getting blurry. Does anyone know (and money isn't a factor) what video card I can get that will optimize refresh rate (greater than or equal to 85 hz rate)? Obviously there are many but I just need one that people have found effective... Nvidia, Geforce, etc?
thanks

I am looking at the the specs and comparing it to the the AMD Dual core and I can't really see any realistic improvements.

Looking at the the two systems in general the Mobo's are pretty crap that support the Quad Cores... Unless you start shelling out double what you need for an equivalent AMD setup.

You can get pure SLI crossfire setups using an AMD for a fraction of the price...

Has any one done any real testing to compare the systems.. Am I right in thinking the quad core is just overated overpriced marketing gimicks using the old (you get what you pay for) to mislead people?

MY understanding is that Intel actually license a chunk of the 64 bit technology from AMD anyway... I wonder just how much the have given them.

I play a lot of PC games such as Battlefield 2, Battlefield 2142, Counter-Strike: Source, rFactor, etc.

I have heard that Vista has trouble playing certain games.

My computer has a NVIDIA GeForce 7900 PCI-Express video card, ASRock 939Dual-SATA2 motherboard, and 1GB of RAM but am thinking about adding another 512 MB - 1 GB.

Would I be okay upgrading to Vista? If so, should I?

My asus computer is 2 years old. When i right click on Partition C, under properties it says 9.75Gb capacity, while when i click on Partition D it says 27.4 Gb capacity.
Combined it makes 9.75+27.4=37.15 Gb of memory, space available.
This is huge!!!!
Why when i do buy a computer i read often under memory: 1Gb or 2Gb?
What is that?
I need to understand it better.

They all have the same specs except the processors. the TUR2 has a AMD Turion 64 X2 Mobile processor and the SEMP2 has a AMD Sempron 3500+ Mobile
processor...which is better???

Already decided on a macbook...
Now I just need to decide what specs to buy.
I am entering college as a freshman and want/need this laptop to last 4+ years. I'll be using it for school-related tasks (word, firefox) and music (not excessively; I barely have 1200 songs after 4 years of high school). What specs do I need in a laptop? Thanks for the help!

Trying to narrow my search down to one computer, and Dell seems to have a great product, but there have been some negative things about their products. Alienware, seems nice, but is it worth the hype?

Could anyone tell me what I could do to speed it up? I have 1G ram. It's getting to where I don't want to wait for it to restart.

I had a weird problem where every file was fragmented. I do defragment often, so it usually doesn't ever get that bad. This was bad. Defragmented, and now looks good. But it is still slow on startup.

I run Norton Antivirus scans once a week, and no viruses are popping up, either.

Do any of these programs hurt me speed-wise?

Here's what runs on startup ("x" means checked to run):
x PROmon
x NvCpl
x nwiz
x realsched
x type32
x jusched
x ccApp
x osCheck
x NvMcTray
x systemnt23
x qttask
x iTunesHelper
x ctfmon
x Microsoft Office
Core
point32
iTunesHelper
msmsgs
PokerOffice

Right now I have a GeForce 7600 GS (256mb, 560mhz, 1400mhz, pci-e), but I'm thinking about getting the 8600 GTS, which is 256mb, 540mhz, 1400mhz, and pci-e, but it has 32 pixel pipelines opposed to the 7600 GS which has only 12. Even though the 8600 GTS that i want to get has slightly slower clock speeds, but more pixel pipelines, will I see a large performance increase? I'd be using it to play Halo 2, Flight Simulator, and Age of Empires.
