I play a lot of PC games such as Battlefield 2, Battlefield 2142, Counter-Strike: Source, rFactor, etc.
I have heard that Vista has trouble playing certain games.
My computer has a NVIDIA GeForce 7900 PCI-Express video card, ASRock 939Dual-SATA2 motherboard, and 1GB of RAM but am thinking about adding another 512 MB - 1 GB.
Would I be okay upgrading to Vista? If so, should I?

Hello; In answer to your question, I just got a new notebook pc. Not only did I also buy an extra Gb of ram for it, I also bought Windows XP for it! Vista is very pretty, and the icons are soooo much nicer, and cleaner, crisper looking.... you just have to decide what's more important, faster PC or pretty pictures on your desktop, incompatibility (many programs & games not made for Vista yet). Eventually Vista will be the benchmark, due to Microsoft's saturation of the market, but I'd stay away from it for now.
Vista needs 1gb RAM just to run efficiently, XP flies with 1gb!
I hope my humble opinion helps!

You 'could' upgrade to Vista now but your PC only meets the minimum requirements with 1GB of ram and your graphics card is not DX10 (Direct-X 10) compatible so you won't be able to get many of the benefits of games on Vista .
If you're happy with XP at the moment I wouldn't recommend rushing out and spending your hard-earned cash getting Vista just yet. It's when they start bringing out DX10 only games that you'll have to upgrade but by that time everything you need will be cheaper.
Why pay over the odds for something that isn't even being fully used yet?
One final bit of advice; if/when you get Vista I would strongly advise you go for a complete fresh install rather than attempting the upgrade, it may seem like a pain at the time but it's always worth installing an OS from fresh. Even Microsoft recommend installing it from fresh.
Hope this helps

No, don't upgrade. Windows vista is very slow, and with the specs you got on that computer things will take forever. Actually, i don't recommend anyone to upgrade to vista from xp.

I upgraded my computer to Vista soon after it's release. At this point you're probably going to be fine. It has taken many companies a LONG time to come out with new drivers. I would definantely get another GB of RAM.

No, i really wouldn't Vista is so buggy. When it has been out for a while and Microsoft fixes it then i would recommend it. For now XP is the way to go.

Why would you bother?
Vista is new, buggy, resource demanding and unnecessary if you have XP. Its not even much different.
