I have been editing for a while and am finally buying my own machine. Since I've used machines at work I'm not really sure what to buy myself. I just want to know what will produce quality work that is also within a decent price. I have looked at the 20'' imac and am considering it, but would still like some feedback.

i am gonna ask my cousin who lives in NY to send me a EDGE modem here in bangladesh. what may be the price? can i get below 150 USD? is so, how will be the quality? as my cousin will not take money from me and also i cannot ask her to send much expensive items.

I have an old Gateway Solo 2550 (Intel PIII) with originaly Windows 98 installed plus a working cd drive, working floppy drive, and working pc card lan. There is a 6 gig harddrive that SMART says is failing. I got rid of the battery because it couldn't hold a charge. There is no cpu fan because it fried and it has a keyboard where some keys are missing and some don't work. It has 64 megs of memory and its wonder I once had Windows XP installed on it but that was before I reformated in an attemp to fix the failing harddrive. Anything wireless is not much of an option because I dont have wi-fi or any wireless network. I know that its a piece of crap and ANY help for it is a stretch but I got hope for it and I know there is somewhere I can put it. I would appreciate any ideas. So can anyone help me-Thanx

Had a system crash I re-installed MS XP and System drivers. All went well except my PC now tries to install this SCSI Raid host adapter with no sucess.
I get 2 (2003) enumerator00 errors in the Hardware Manager devices.
I unistall the drivers involved under the SCSI and Raid controller and upon boot up they are back again.
What gives -- can anyone help???

k how am i suppose to connect my toshiba SD-K760 DVD player to my princeton VL1916? appearantley there is no sucha thing as a DVI-d to 3rca cable but there is a DVI-I to 3 rca which i bought and it doesnt work! so if you think you are a genius, tell mw how i can connect these to together to HD result! thanks

Lots of memory for sure. WINDOWS IS A MUST. Built in wireless. doesn't heat up. average size screen is okay, like the Compaq Presario C500T. has double click(tap) feature. Lots of gig and ram. has all the specifications for current gaming/entertainment. education use- easy to use, lots of features.

Sorry for the weird typing, I didn't have enough time, these are my specifications. I want to know what laptop/notebook has these general specifications. Doesn't have to be exact. I don't care about the cost.

I have:
Windows XP SP2
3.06 GHz
504 MB RAM
HP DVD Writer 640b w/ Lightscrbe.

When I insert a blank CD-R, the computer almost comes to a complete halt. When I actually get it to burn (CD or DVD), it goes WAY slower than it's capability. When I insert a movie, it plays choppy and slow. There are no other programs runnng in the background so I can't figure out what the hell is going on.

I have a dell inspiron 9400(i think) i know its a dell inspiron though. When I charge my laptop the battery gets really really hot to the point where it worries me it will start on fire. It's been like this ever since I 1st got my laptop a few months ago. Is this normal?

Verizon has a plan that runs about 60 bucks a month and Im wondering if there are any other providers and amounts per month? Tried Ask, and kept giving me wireless throught your cable or phone line. Im looking for true wireless that lets me go anywhere with my laptop. Thanks for any info.

i'm buying a laptop, i've got too exactly the same except for one is about 6/1 lbs and a little cheaper, and the other is like 4.9 lbs and a little bit more expensive.

i just installed a power supply into my new computer, i turned it on, and it worked fine. I also wanted ot isntall a new gfx card so i turned off my comptuer but realized id idnt' disable the drivers. Tried to trun it back on and it turns on, however the front power light of the ocmputer doesn't come on, and there's no picture on the monitor, no idea whats wrong.
