I m bored with Windows ? Could anyone suggest be a better OS?

Linux because its free or you can upgrade to windows vista assuming you have not already. vista looks pretty cool i think.

Linux, any brand would do as a toy setup, that seems to be what you want, just a toy.
As a toy Mac is lousy, it is an actual consumer system not a toy. And even if you go with Mac never choose non-Intel non-OS X antiques unless you know they are dead end products.

apple. hands down is way better. everything the NEW windows can do, apple could do like 2 years ago.
i've been an apple user for about 10 years now and i HAVE to use windows for work and side by side, the apple system is 10 times better.

You may have to do a bit of homework to see if you prefer Linux Red Hat or Linux SUSE.
You have to pay money for SUSE, but that's because they have set up the most firewalls and do their own tweaking, whereas with Red Hat security becomes questionable (we've been hacked while using Red Hat.) Some people like Red Hat because it is free, some people prefer SUSE because it has stable support.

I have never used Linux, but I have used Mac and would recomend it. You will still be able to find softwear that is compatible.
