i want to play newer games on max setting. My max res is 1280xzzzz, which would do a better job.

For AGP systems, the 2nd card (X1950 Pro)

I wouldn't worry about DX10 since no games use it yet, it's only supported under Vista (which many people are avoiding until at least the first service pack- figure 2008) and so far no one has released an AGP DX10 card anyway.

I would wait a month or two for some of the newer cards that support directx 10 to become cheaper. I know the Nvidia 8600 and above support it but are a little expensive at the moment. Also the ati radeon 2000+ hd series supports dx10. Best advice is to just wait and let the prices on these drop down so you dont have to upgrade again when the games with dx10 come out
