HI guys. I have a Giga-Byte GA-8IPE1000 Pro v2 motherboard. Is this ok to fit an 7800GS+ 512mb (agp) card - im mainly concerned about power - is my motherboard ok to power this (or maybe the 7800 GS basic) card?? thx!

is there some adapter that could make my laptop keyboard connect to my desktop through usb or something? it would be really cool to have my thinkpad keyboard for my desktop >] and yes i have disassembled the laptop many times before so no worries on the warranty etc

Should i go in for a graphics card now ?
With Microsoft's Direct X 10.0 . The older Direct x Compatible cards wont work . Direct X 10 is only for Vista ! (I have XP ) A Direct x 10 compatible card will come out only after 1 yr . I dont know when in India

Just got a HP TouchSmart PC and it comes with a built in Web cam only there is no infor about it except that you have to have a messenger that allows you to use it. Now I have gotten the web cam to work one time, but I can't get it to work any more. Has anyone ever had this problem and were you abole to fix it?? How did you fix it??

I recently formatted and re-installed XP PROFESHIONAL... Everything seems fine -- except there's no sound what so ever (only the beep from the internal speaker).

If i go control panel > sounds and audio devices, the volume tab is greyed out and reads "no audio device". I had sound on here an it was all working fine before the re-install.

So err.. Any ideas??

When my HP Pavilion computer loads Windows ME/XP about less then a minute the monitor will go off. I have tried different monitors and replaced and repositioned the graphics card with a new one and still the same problem. What is going on??

I own a HP Pavilion a720n which I personnally revamped. It still has its AMD Athlon XP 3200+ but now it has 1GB (1 stick) of DDR 3200 and a new Sony BD-R drive (Blu Ray). My biggest next upgrade is I want Windows Vista Ultimate. But my Integrated Graphics Card has only 64mb of RAM, poor in 3D performance and is well, integrated. So I am looking for a Great Performance card. I was looking at the Nvidia GeForce 6600GT, 6800GT, and the whole 7 series, plus the Radeon X1400 and above. If I could get any suggestions that would be great. It has a AGP 8x slot and a 600WT PSU. (I would have bought a new mobo but Socket A doesn't support PCI-E, and this is a secondary pc).

my motherboard supports pc533 ddr2 memory. I'd like to buy pc800 ddr2 memory since I will buy a new motherboard in the next months.

is it possible to clock the pc800 memory down to pc533 to use it with my current motherboard?

My computer only has 256 MB of RAM (I know, :/), and I have plenty of extra flash drives laying around. I know about partitions and formatting, so, can I use one of these USB flash drives for swap? Also, is there any reason not to? I'm running Ubuntu Feisty Fawn and I have a partitioning program.

I just went from a 80GB 2MB cache harddrive to a 160 gb hard drive with a 8MB cache and my whole system is faster and I am wondering if a ram card will farther improve the speed of my PC?


BTW I have a DELL that has only 256 MB of memory.

I had two chips that were 256MB each which equaled 512MB. I added another 512MB to add up to 1024MB, and my computer goes slower opening programs and more. Downloading went faster and playing games went faster, but the gaming should be ALOT faster than it is.
Can anyone help me?
And yes, I made sure it was the right RAM.

i get this error when i try to switch on the pc.. nothing will load thats the first thing i get then i have to restart the laptop a couple of times before it starts loading the bios and other stuff and one more thing i can only switch it on on safe mode anyhelp?????
