I've been fooled so many years that Creative hardware products are good. But After buying 2 sound cards, a phone modem and a CD ROM and they all sucked and died within 3 months. I'm fed up!!! just wondering who else has been raped by Creative?

I have a 5,1 SBlive and a 6.1 Audigy2 and they are great in sound quality but... i had a 6.1 inspire speaker set and in 12 months the amp was burned and 150$ went in the garbage. Also the drivers for SB are tricky and need tones of updates and all the interface is not user friendly. Also the BIG problem is the that SB 6.1 and 7.1 have a special 4 point jack out for the rear and sub speakers so u cant use any other brand of speakers without problems except Creatives!!!
On the other hand a v92 modem i had was very fast and stable so...conclusion the jack thing is unforgivable if u want to use bigger and better speakers

I've neved had any problems with any Creative hardware. I've had my Soundblaster Live! Platinum for a number of years now. I also have a Creative drive that is still working. Maybe you've just had a lot of bad luck.

creative hardware tends to be alright, it's their software that BLOWS. the x-fi for example, is an amazingly capable sound card, but the drivers are just terrible.

i wish they'd continue to make hardware (sound cards mostly) but hand off the software and driver writing to a third party.
