when i press the @ button i have to use the " mark button and vise versa please help, its driving me mad.

Your Language Settings Have Changed To American Whereas Before It Was On English..
Go To Control Panel, Then Onto Date, Time, Language, and Regional Options Then Click On "Add Other Languages" Then The Tab Regional Options Then On The First Box Then Click On United Kingdom!! Problem Solved

Your keyboard is set to American English and it is very easy to change. Go to start > Control Panel > Date, Time, Language, Regional Options > Regional Language options and then go through the three folders and change all the options to English (United Kingdom) and don't forget to press APPLY or the options will not change.
