MOST of the time...all is well with my desktop PC.
HOWEVER...
Occasionally (since I added a Western Digital 250GB External Harddrive to my system), it changes the boot area in my BIOS settings, making the external drive the first (primary) drive listed in the BOOT/HARD DISK DRIVES/1ST DRIVE area of my BIOS settings.
Needless to say, I just make changes to my BIOS so that my internal hard drive is my primary drive, I exit and SAVE my BIOS settings, and I load up fine into Windows XP.
Most of the time, each subsequent start-up of the machine works just fine. But every now and then, the aforementioned BIOS settings wind up being changed again.
An interesting note is that the BOOT/HARD DISK DRIVES selection doesn't even APPEAR in BIOS when all is working well.
The external drive is one that "starts up automatically" when the PC is powered on.
Can anyone tell me why my BIOS settings are getting changed, even though I set them and SAVE the settings?
Thanks for any help you can provide.
