I want to add 1GB RAM in the expansion slot of Toshiba Satellite Laptop A135-S2276. Can I put 1GB PC 5300 DDR 2.

According to Toshiba, you can add up to 2 Gig of memory on your laptop, but only PC 4200 Memory. Not the PC 5300.

Yep, sure can. RAM is one way compatible within the design spec, and you can go with FASTER RAM of the same generation, but NEVER slower RAM than the motherboard demands. They're both DDR2 so they will fit in the same slot.
