I don't know what you mean by "saver", but Canon Printers are my favorite. But you have to get one that takes the larger ink cartridges or they're no better than HP or (the worst of all) Epson.

Anyone would jump and say HP..but wait !! Though it is good but it ain't a saver, the cartridge cost which would be recurring , is high in case of HP, i would suggest EPSON or CANON, both are good and the recurring cost is low as compared to HP.

I have an HP Photosmart C5180 All-in-one and I love it! It uses these ink catridges called Vivera. Each color is a seperate cartridge, so if the magenta runs out, I just have to pay about $7 to replace it.

You can get a "lemon" from any manufacturer at any time. Best to buy from a reputable company that has been in business for a while and which offers good support. From personal experience, I'd go for an HP.

Get an Epson, and a Continuous Ink Supply System. your ink will cost less than $1 for a cartridge full using this system.
