Are you using the appropriate software drivers, for each different printer?

Is it a USB connection?

Theoretically, we should be able to plug and unplug a device into a USB port but it doesn't work that way.

I have found that unless I go through the "safely remove" procedure, I cannot simply plug in another device. I had to replug the device I removed, "safely remove," then I was able to plug in another USB item. Try it.

I agree with previous writer, you are not using the correct drivers for those printers.
