Intel Integrated Graphics is good for 2D but sucks in 3D (games). Since you are on XP, consider buying a budget DX9 card such as Nvidia 7300 series. Upgrade to a better DX10 card later.

OR you could buy now the new 8500/8600 DX10 cards w/c are now available in Asia and use it in XP. When you move up to Vista, your card is DX10 ready.

onboard Intel Extreme Graohics has no use if you want to play nice games like Counter Strike or any of the new games. Get a nVida Geforce 8800 it is direct x 10 compatible

Better go for a good graphics card right now.
And let me tell you, for playing moderate games like Counter Strike, onboard graphics is more than enough.
But to play high end games, you should be going for some graphics card like :
256 MB GF 6200
OR
256 MB GF 6600 DDR2

go the graphics card which supports you application then only it is usefull and see that you have a agp slot on the MB and see the speed of the agp slot and then buy the requied card. some of the cards dosent support the agp slots. You buy the Nvidea gforce & Asus cards they are the best compitable
