How do i reformat my pc? My current OS is windows xp sp2 but it crashes alot due to an improper shutdown and some programs can't run anymore, I want to install just windows 2000 pro, is it possible? Are there horrible complications?

the exact #830C. There was 694C-850C-855Cse-855Cxi plus several others.Can This model be added ? There was No disk with unit! Was told I could get drivers or_? needed online so I can use it.Or if I find that there is a problem -and- it Will Not work it will be such a big help tonight to find out!so~
Can anyone give the best advice? consider I don,t have funds right now to buy new .

Here's my problem. I have 3 older POS terminals which have no operating system installed. The terminals have an AMD K6-2 333 with 256MB RAM. According to the manufacturer's specs I can install Windows 95, 98, and 2000. I plan to install 2000.

Here's my problem though. The hard drive is an IBM Travelstar (which I assume is for lap tops) and doesn't have a regular IDE interface. The computer has a port for hooking up a floppy drive but I have never seen a port like it. It does have 2 USB ports, but without an OS, I don't think I can use these for a boot drive.

I'm thinking the best option would be to hook up the HD to another computer and simply drop the entire contents of the windows CD. But how do I make this HD a boot drive so that I can access these files.

Anyone have any other/better ideas?

Ok every time I have to scan my computer after I download music on ares. Now I have mcafee and it takes forever for it to scan. I have a choice for scanning on mcafee and I have it on all files. This is what I have a list for to scan.

My Computer
Critical Files
Desktop
My Documents
Program Files
Local Disk (C:)
DVD-RW Drive (D:)
Removable Disk (E:)
Removable Disk (F:)

All of these are checked so they are all scaned. SHould I have all checked or only some?

i accidentally deleted epson scan icon fromt the desktop, and now i can't find it in "search", even if i choose detailed search. i can, however, open it from photoimpression, but is there any way i can get it back on my desktop?

maybe i should reinstall the printer? if so, how?

i cant view any video from my tv from my toshiba satellite laptop, using the s-video out from my laptop. but ican see the desktop icons, desktop wallpapers,start buttons, everything in my desktop, except when i play a video, a dvd, a divx file, the tv screen is just all black but the player interface, (Windows Media player, for example) but there is no video,but from my laptop there is a video playing. thanks for your time.

Hello, I was watching a show on how they scam people, and it consisted of getting the info on the strip of the credit card and later rewriting that to anything with a magnetic strip, which could be a hotel room key, whatever, and using the clone of the original to withdraw cash. That gave me an idea. While travelling, I could clone my cards onto hotel room keys, or anything with a strip, and not carry credit cards. They wouldn't be accepted at restaurants, or where a person sees the card, but they would work in ATM's. What equiptment do I need to do that fairly inexpensively? Thanks!

When I look at my system properties I see this:
Computer:
Intel(R) Pentium(R) M
processor 1400 mhz
251 mhz , 640 MB of RAM

Im confused as to what the 251 mhz means and i have noticed my pc is running a little slow, maybe this has something to do with it?..anyone please explain the 2 mhz ratings to me?..thanks in advance.

I have recently gotten a replacement laptop but HP sent me back the old one to recover the data from it. Small problem--it has no power and will not turn on. I would like to transfer the data from the no-power laptop to the new one or to my desktop if that is easier. Any ideas? See, I'm deciding whether to make my computer RAM 2 gigabytes for gaming or just hold out my money for future upgrades.

I have an nvidia 7600 GS video card, 256 mb pci-e, and I was wondering: If I put in more RAM, will the anti-aliasing on my games have a decreased impact in relation to my frames per second?

Basically, If I have more RAM and I have anti aliasing on in my games, will they run faster in comparison to my 1 gigabyte system ram now?

As a side question, where do textures get stored temporarily when playing games? Is it just in the video card memory or is some of it saved in system ram too? This is kinda where I got the idea of upgrading my RAM..
