a slightly better question IMO is why would you WANT to run Vista if you have such a computer?

just because its avaliable does not mean you want to upgrade to the newest Windows.

unless theres something you *definitely* want that is *only* avaliable with Vista, I'd suggest XP.

Yes, the processor is sufficient, but what about the other stuff - RAM, Graphics card, Hard-drive space...
