Hello, I was watching a show on how they scam people, and it consisted of getting the info on the strip of the credit card and later rewriting that to anything with a magnetic strip, which could be a hotel room key, whatever, and using the clone of the original to withdraw cash. That gave me an idea. While travelling, I could clone my cards onto hotel room keys, or anything with a strip, and not carry credit cards. They wouldn't be accepted at restaurants, or where a person sees the card, but they would work in ATM's. What equiptment do I need to do that fairly inexpensively? Thanks!

The hardware is very easy to get, & totally legal ( I have it myself) ....

example :
http://bcdata.com/encoder.html

Now ... what is harder to do is decrypt the codes & duplicate them onto another magnetic stripe. The software is varied yet easily obtained on the web ... the "know how" is not.

Listen .... even if cloning your own card the fine print on your agreement with the credit card companies is very clear. It's illegal .. period.

Just forget about it.

FYI : "linuxiac" has illusions of grandure .... a true hacker never reveals himself on a forum like this one.

I stopped using them after I stopped having them. I cut them up. Now I only use my bank debit card and I have to be careful to only spend what I have. If you really can't stop go to your local Consumer Credit Counseling Service (CCCS). I did that a few years ago and they helped me break my habit and helped me with paying off the $27,000 in debt I accrued.

The info you seek is available in most prisons, but, you must get convicted to have access.

And, you must provide access to all the nice men who will 'help' you.

The rest of us who know this information invented it, work on it, or are otherwise sworn to secrecy in a guild of wisdom you aren't likely to be invited to join.
