Ok every time I have to scan my computer after I download music on ares. Now I have mcafee and it takes forever for it to scan. I have a choice for scanning on mcafee and I have it on all files. This is what I have a list for to scan.

My Computer
Critical Files
Desktop
My Documents
Program Files
Local Disk (C:)
DVD-RW Drive (D:)
Removable Disk (E:)
Removable Disk (F:)

All of these are checked so they are all scaned. SHould I have all checked or only some?

The best way to scan is to scan the entire Hard Drive "C"
This is what I always do. It does take a longer time but more thorough.
Just set it to scan before going to bed and by morning it will be sure to be finished.
If you only download to your documents and want to just scan the file or directory that is also possible.
But this day in age with spreading viruses and trogans I would stick to the entire hard drive for a complete scan.

You really only need My Computer and Critical Files checked. My Computer already covers all folders and drives in the list, so none of the others need to be. So only My Comp and Crit Files.
