When I look at my system properties I see this:
Computer:
Intel(R) Pentium(R) M
processor 1400 mhz
251 mhz , 640 MB of RAM

Im confused as to what the 251 mhz means and i have noticed my pc is running a little slow, maybe this has something to do with it?..anyone please explain the 2 mhz ratings to me?..thanks in advance.

the 251 is probably your front side bus speed, newer system are running FSB speeds of 500-800 so you are not working with a fast machine

You have a 1400 mhz MOBILE processor. It is capable of running at various speeds, usually slow at idle or low load and full blast at full load.

Under power management, go for the performance option so that maximum speed will always be available.

power administration will enable the CPU to scale decrease back flops to maintain on power utilization. relying on the OS, you would even see even slower speeds notwithstanding the command to question the processor also takes some CPU to cough up an excellent decision, so the numbers you spot received't be real low power readings. imagine of it this form.......clone of your vehicle motor slows to an idle once you aren't from now on transferring, the hot CPU's will also sluggish to an idle at the same time as no longer some thing is going on that needs processing.

Most probably its your Front Side Bus speed. It is the transfer rate of your data from hard disk to ram to processor. You should defragment your drive regularly to keep it moving at optimum speed by right clicking on your drive in my computer and tools tab then defragment.

It might be either your FSB or RAM speed.
