when i turn it on it freezes when the windows xp screen comes up. the only thing that i can do is un plug it and try again. the second time it usually works and nothing seems to be the problem. i have ran a scan with mcafee and nothing seems to be coming up in the scan. i dont know what the problem is and i have delelted all the files that i dont use or need. i have also have my comp in safe mode. is there any ways i could possibly fix this or find out whats wrong?

I prefer to purchase from costco because of their awsome return policy (just in case of a problem). I need a new laptop for work. I will use it for massive file storage (120+) , spreadsheets, photo editing. I'm trying to keep it under $2,500. What do you think?

I have BenQ CB523C CD-ROM, DVD-ROM,CD-R&CD-RW.I using this device from1 1/2 year.Its work fine uptill now but now it create problem in burning CD-R(W)but read CD-ROM & DVD-ROM well.I heard combos have long life.I check firm ware update from their official site but all in vain.Please help me.

i was going to add a new 120gb HD to my note book, but the hard drives are sold unformatted what does this mean, and if i add it can i load xp and wll it format the new hard drive on its own when i add xp, if this works how do i transfer all my files from my current hard drive to the new

I have been trying to print some document but I get an error report that says Spooler SubSystem App. I already went to My Computer>manage>Service and applications> Services. I adjusted the spooler to auto and right clicked it and pressed start. I then I went to print my papers but I get an error report again, and when I click print again, it's says to select a printer from control panel. I am so mad!! I can't system restore because the calendar is stuck on march and my last restore point was march 5th and that's when this problem started. Please help me, this papers are important.

I'm building a PC for the first time, and I'm not sure if I goofed on the Motherboard/Case combo. The Motherboard has 4 external USB 2.0 ports, and 2 USB headers. The case has 2 front panel USB 2.0 ports, each with its own plug. That pretty much maxes my USB port and/or USB-powered device potential so far as I can see.
I still want to add a USB add-on card to the rear I/O (has to be a PCI-Express add-on) and I have an internal USB-powered card reader that requires two USB headers on the Motherboard.
What should I do to expand both the number of external USB ports as well as the accommodate the internal USB-powered devices? I've seen PCI-Express USB 2.0 add-ons that have an internal USB port, but that would only accommodate one of the two card reader plugs.. I also don't want to have the front panel ports disconnected and not working.

i have removed my heatsink before bcz of the noises it creates after a year using it so i decided to clean it ... at the bottom i notice a dry and cracking stuff(my first thought was did the heatsink melt the processor) then i put it back and then still got the same loud noise i decided to buy a chasis fan to cool things off

until recently i did some thinking and remember that i once saw a video showing a man putting on a compound or paste onto the bottom of the heatsink

so i want to know if the paste are available seperately or does it only come with a new heatsink?
how can i replace the paste with any household items?such as papers, silicon compound, thick glue paste? or anything which can be like the real paste

Rosewill 380w power supply.
Here is my question I just ordered a new PCI Geforce 6200 128mb video card.
I want to keep my geforce MX4000 with 128mb ram and have my onboard video and Geforce MX4000 and my Geforce 6200.Will my PSU be able to run it?

i just bought a dell latitude laptop and received a floppy drive with it (need it for my Sony Mavica FD-95)...anyway, when i took out the cd drive and put in the floppy it said "no drivers found"..... :( bummer. can anyone help? thanks.

I use a gateway Cx2610 tablet pc
whenever i play a computer game for example, after about 5 minutes the laptop just shuts down by itself. This also sometimes happens when i'm using the computer normally, and i only have 1 window open, so i'm not using too much memory. What can I do to stop this from happening?

im planing on buying a new video card for my pc. i only have one pci express 16x slot to use. i only want 1 card to use anyways. the card iam getting is SLI ready. but that is for running two card on a SLI motherboard. can my non SLI motherboard with 1 pci express 16x slot run that card. i just want 1. i was told u can, some1 told me that u need a SLI motherboard to run to SLI cards, for one u can use any with a 16x slot. but i just want to make sure. thx

I'm planning to get a Lenovo Thinkpad R60 - 512MB Ram.

My question's whether Shared Memory is specific to a computer's build or is it a 'process' which can be enabled on any computer?

And does Shared Memory mean sharing the RAM between apps and gfx/video cards?

I transfered a video to a DVD using a LG video to Disc multi one touch rewriter. When I play it back on my computer it's fine. But when I play it back on my home entertainment system DVD I do not get any sound. Can anyone give me a suggestion? I'm using a DVD+R 8x 4.7GB disc.

question is ,is it possible to use VGA to s-video or Vga to DVI adapter and hook it up to my flat panel lcd tv, either to a s-video or DVI connector. Also does anyone knows whether GEFORCE 6100 support s-video or dvi output.
