Everytime I start up my laptop, it goes stright to a message with a bright blue background and white words. It says something to the effect of "Your computer has come across an error and needs to be restarted." All I want to do is get the Windows XP startup disc to reboot everything. It doesn't bother me if I lose all of the information on my computer. Thanks.

i forgot to switch to 230v when plugging in my american desktop in
france, there was a pop, and now it wont start. did i completely break
it or is there a circuit breaker or something i can fix

I wouldn't mind getting Windows Vista, but I don't want the hassle of any problems, bugs, gltiches, etc. I also don't want to get it now if it will be significantly changed in a new edition in a year or something.

So should I get it now...?

Or wait 6 to 12 months?

I downloaded ccleaner and it gave me a limited number of files that it WOULD clean up , that means i still have about 160 infected files on my computer. The speed is slow and my McAfee has expired .I know absolutely nothing about computers and have been downloading tv movies and music (who doesnt ?) .Please tell me what i can use to get my computer to run as it used to .
Also i ve tried cable nut and have absolutely got no idea how to use it .Heeeeeeeeeelp. Thank you.

its not the hard drive i just got a new one and i don't have any disks in any of my drives. i would like to fix it back the way it was before it messed up if possible. how it happened it was running slow after i played games. my computer doesn't have much RAM for games and such but idk if that would be a problem. I've tried going and repairing it with the windows disk but it still doesn't work right. i don't want to install it over again and lose all my stuff. i have TONS of important stuff on here. I have a Compaq Presario that I added memory to about a year ago. As my sister has the same computer and we both are Sims 2 fiends, we have decided that the 768 MB of RAM we have now is insufficient. I was going to get a portable hard drive since both spaces for memory modules are now occupied but someone told me to have a new internal hard drive put in because I have an empty expansion bay.
