The burning software I like the most is Ashampoo Burning. It's 100% free and can be downloaded here: http://bitly.com/1sW2EFD
A burning software is a tool that you need to create new CDs and DVDs. To make them working properly you need to burn them with a good software. Ashampoo is a very modern and reliable software that I recommend. It has plenty of other functions (e.g. you can edit videos and create DVD menus)

the easiest and best software for burning i.s.o images to c.d,s is nero
its very easy ,even for novices,go to http://www.nero.com/eng/Downloads.html,and download nero 7 trial version
this will give you a chance to burn your i.s.o file and if you still need to use it after the trial period then you need to purchase the full license key
try to avoid alcohol 120% as it carries spyware in its code, the only two decent burning programs are nero and roxio, and both have a option to burn i.s.o files
what a coincedence,i have just burned a i.s.o file half an hour ago,a i.s.o file of a free download of windows xp pro 64bit edition(180 day trial),have a look http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/64bit/facts/trial.mspx
good luck mate

if nero and alcohol 120% are failed then either you are doing something wrong or the iso is corrupted

Alcohol 120% works quite well, you must be doing something wrong.

extract the iso. then use dvd burner prog ie (dvdshrink) to burn the extracted iso. You will need iso buster or power iso to extract the iso file.
