I've found that when my printer (Epson) starts printing in only one color that I need to replace the inkjet cartridges.

I've never run into it printing only half of the object but have experienced the single color problem several times over the years.

You are out of ink or your print head has dried out.

One simple test is to run a print head cleaning. (this will be outlined in your manual) If no other colours are showing up on the resulting diagnostic the you need to replace the cartridges.

You cannot let a Dell printer sit for more than 30days without use, otherwise the cartridges will dry out and need to be replaced.
