I have a perfectly good, fast laser printer, which I now need to connect to a new laptop - the new laptop only has USB connections, and the printer only has a parallel connection.

Is there an interface device that I can use to connect the two

yes, you can get ...-to-usb adapters. They're available for almost any sort of port.

Yes they do make parallel to USB connectors just for doing what you want to do. Check any electronic store (Best Buy, Circuit City) or search online and you should be able to find one in the $20 range.

Yes there is. As much as I despise RadioShack and their products that have moving parts, their cables and adapters work very well. All you have to do is go into RadioShack, tell them your problem, and they'll find the perfect adapter for you. Also, make sure you keep your receipt because they do not allow returns without a receipt... or at least they'll probably hassle you about it. But, overall, in my experiences, RadioShack is the right place to go for all of your adapters and cables.

**WARNING: Do NOT buy anything that has moving parts from Radio Shack.**
