Sometimes unisntalling and epson ink cartridge a few times will reset the chip. This mostly only works on Older models. If this fails you will need to purchase a chip re-setter or take your cartridges to a place that refills cartridges. Most will reset your chips for a small fee.
Sometimes chip re setters are hard to come by, find a good online store. You shouldn't be paying more than about $20.
Epson has been putting smart chips on all thier cartridges for models manufactured after 2002. They are encrypted and cannot be fooled. If you have a new printer, one that takes the T077x or T060x series you may not be able to reset the chips. They are heavily encrypted and will not reset with a universal chip re-setter.

Epson printers are not really good refill. Try using generic inkjet cartridges. But here is something you can use for your case, Epson Inkjet Cartridge Resetter: http://www.printcountry.com/chip_resetter_for_epson_cartridges-cartridges/EP-I-COM-CHIPRESET.htm

Hold the ink button on your printer while switching on. fit your re-filled cartridge and press ink button to go through the priming and cleaning cycle. the computer should now think you have fitted new cartridges.
There is no chip in the cartridge !! it's your print driver on the computer that counts the pages printed since last cartridge change !!

Without knowing your printer model, I cannot be sure. Have a look at the link for refillable carts, or even Continuous ink Supply Systems (they are so cheeeep to run)

There are no chips on printer cartridges. So you can't reset them.
