right click on the drive, properties, hardware, click on the drive, troubleshoot. go through those steps.

make sure it is connected internally.

their is also i believe a system diagnosics of drives when u reboot and to one one the "F" buttons.

does 'd driver' mean CDRom Drive D: ?

If so, what happens when you insert a CD and close the drive?
Does D show up on the listing on My Computer?
If so, what do you see when you right clk it?

more info. required for an answer.

Your CD might be scratched or your driver could be loose/broken...

well it could be a number of reasons it could need cleaning.are your cd bought are did you download them. somtime when you download your music it will not play.are your cd player needs fixing.
